Vietnam account on 18th dec 2006

4th Jan 2007, Wednesday:

Finally can get to go out for a while. =D slack around in mac..n walk around.

Today's last day meeting one particular friend. I've decided not to meet him for a period of time. I wanna take a break from any more relationship. Realised during the trip that i'm really very tired committing to mantain a relationship. I need a good break. And yup, i'm going to get busy with my tuition works and hopefully first aid duties. =p

Gotten 2 tuition assignments. One is my ex-student who wishes me to continue teaching her A maths and E maths. The other is a new student. But she is my ex-student's friend. I believe my this ex-student has recommended me to her. haha..yeah..me quite happy. (^-^)

Yup, start to move on in life in year 2007. (",)

18th dec 2006, Monday:

Setting off for Thanh Oai district, Ha Tay. Approximately 2 hours of bus ride. From the urban to the rural zone. Started to see many cows, horses and wheat fields. Many of us were very excited over the animals, especially cows. Hahhaa.. =P

Settled ourselves in a treatment centre for the handicapped. That’s our accommodation site for the next 10 days. Basically there’s a relatively nice toilet system and decent stove and necessary rooms for us to sleep.

Survivor Ha Tay.

Just within one to two hours after settling down there, we had damaged 2 things in the centre. T_T

First, it was the vacuum flask. One of my friends had accidentally kicked it over and damaged it. The floor of the meeting room was wet. T_T

A few minutes after, another friend stepped onto one portion of the floor tile and broke it. T_T The tiles are very fragile and we have no idea when first came here. We were pretty embarrassed cos the working staff was still present in the centre…!! T_T just for the first day and within tat 2 hours, we damaged 2 items. (T_T)

After lunch, we went to visit our first school – Kim Bai Primary School. Along the way, we always need to watch out for the cow droppings, which we later called them “Choco Pie”. Haha.. =p

Kim Bai pri brings many memories to us. The first time when we step in, we are already warmly welcomed by the kids there. They will run towards us and say “hello” in English. We were totally flattered.!! Haha..

Meeting the principal was alright. By that time, we have learnt their social etiquettes. What interested us a lot was that the school uses a drum as a form of school alarm. All the teacher needs to do is to hit the drum 3 times and the kids will have the discipline to queue up properly and enter their respective classrooms.

After the meeting with the principal, we have the chance to interact with the Kim Bai kids. They were very fascinated with our camera gadgets, especially mine n another friend. Initially it was still alright for a small group of kids rushing towards us and say hi to the cameras. But later, it’s a “flock” of kids running towards my digicam and they were pushing each other juz to have their faces appear on the camera. The situation was almost uncontrollable until I decided to keep the camera, not filming anymore. One kid fell down and was nearly injured due to the constant pushing from his school mates.

They were so active and enthusiastic that we almost have a phobia of them. Haaa.. =p

The kids then performed a few songs during their assembly. And as usual, we also sang one or two songs in appreciation of theirs. Haa..the kids were very cute and lovable. And we have learnt one Vietnamese song “Vietnam Ho Chi Minh”, which later we love it very much.

Some kids approached one of my friend for his autograph. Again, kids started flocking around him with pens and books. And they were shouting and pushing their books towards his face. Hahha.. =p He was like a superstar there la..hahaa..in the end, he had no choice but to stop signing, cos the kids were basically too enthusiastic for him to handle le..

AS we left the sch and back to our accommodation site to prepare our dinner, the kids rushed to the windows and waved to us goodbye. And they kept shouting “bye” out of the windows till they can’t see us anymore. And I admire their vocal capacity. They could simply shout across the field and their voice could still be heard loud and clear.

Passionate kids. But think they are too passionate for us to cope with at that time. Hahaa..but we still love them lots.. (^^)
